Learning Beer Culture
August 24, 2010 by Alicia
Yes it exists…beer culture. While some may think that it doesn’t taste very good. You know they just haven’t had a good beer yet. There’s also an art to having a good beer just like wine. There’s a certain color that makes a good beer, and of course there isn’t much foam (or head as most people call it) on the top. Also depending on the person (and country) it’s either cold or served at room temperature. Just like wine. So don’t knock it, some people are wine culture and some people are beer culture.
This week is DC’s Beer Week and this is probably the best time to learn about beer culture. You might even find a beer you enjoy, with more than 0 breweries and 30 restaurants, bars and pubs participating you’re sure to find something!
Please be responsible and don’t drink and drive. Simply use the Commuter Rail!

Being Barefoot…while Running

Can you run a 5k barefooted? I know what you’re thinking…how do you run a 5k barefooted? You’re thinking that would be horrible…you don’t have arch support, cushion for your feet or protection! Wrong…
Introducing Vibram Five Fingers! Vibram Five Fingers lets you run barefooted. They look like gloves for feet. I know you’re still wondering how this can be good for your feet…
The typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints, 20 muscles, and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised.
Your feet need the exercise, and when you give your feet the exercise they need your feet will be stronger. You’ll be able to support yourself more. It’s a win win! You can buy Vibram Five Fingers either online or at Hudson Trail Outfitters.
Eaton Square at Arlington Ridge is less than 10 minutes away from Hudson Trail Outfitters. Check out Vibram Five Fingers!

The Del Merei Grille

Last weekend some friends and I decided to head over to the Del Merei Grille. We were looking for a nice restaurant with a hip atmosphere and great food. The Del Merei Grille was definitely the place to be! We had such a great time and the food was to die for!
Located in the vibrant Del Ray section of Alexandria, Virginia, the restaurant has quickly become a neighborhood favorite where diners return again and again for the gracious hospitality and consistently excellent food. Locals call it “the Del” and know it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a wonderful meal.
That night I had food from the grille! Oh the options were endless, you have a choice of food from the grille, a sauce and two sides! You get to make your own meal! There are also other entrees that you can choose from and I’m certain you’ll be satisfied.
The Del Merei Grille is located off of 3106 Mount Vernon Ave. you can call 703-739-4335 for more information.

#47 of Top 100- Alexandria VA!
July 14, 2010 by Alicia
First, living at Eaton Square at Arlington Ridge is a great pleasure. I love the amenities and features we get in our apartment. My neighbors are really nice and I enjoy living next to them.
Second, Alexandria VA was named number 47 of the Top 100 places to live in America by Money Magazine of CNNMoney! Their reasons are for the strong government presence and our strong support to the local economy. Not to mention our annual Festival of Arts, that alone brings tourists and national artists!
I think it’s then safe to say that CNN is right. We do live in one of the best places in America! Why do you love living in Alexandria VA?
Having the Advantage

When you live as close as Eaton Square at Arlington Ridge does to Busch Gardens I’m sure that most people would take advantage of their Virginia discounts. Like Florida, Busch Gardens allows you to get different discounts depending on the ticket you wish to buy.
You have the option of buying a one park pass, a park and water park pass, and a year pass, it’s your choice. You also have the choice of building your own type of pass, while I have yet to build my own pass I believe this pass might be the best deal.
Eaton Square at Arlington Ridge is less than 30 minutes away from Williamsburg, VA where Busch Gardens is located.
